The Opa’s Granola Story

Opa is in his 90s. He uses a flip phone, writes emails instead of texts, and signs every message with "love you a lot." Opa has weekly lunch dates with friends, takes time to read every day, and never passes up a delicious treat. He lives intentionally and finds joy in the kind of slowness most people rush through.

His granddaughter, Arielle, found herself craving the same thing. After years of overcomplicating food and feeling overwhelmed by the snack aisle, she returned to what felt good: quality ingredients, slow cooking, and meals made to be shared. A way of living that brought her back to life’s simpler pleasures—the feeling of turning off your phone and getting lost in a book, a ripe peach on a summer day, a crisp tomato on buttered sourdough, sitting around the table with people you love long after the meal is over.

It was during this shift that she started making granola for Opa. Bag after bag, he’d always ask for more. So Arielle kept making it. What began as a granddaughter making granola for her grandfather became something worth sharing.

“There’s no need to rush”

From long dinners with the people you love, to finishing a new book, to indulging in handfuls of your favorite granola, Opa's reminds us to savor life's simplest pleasures.
