Happy summer everyone! We're popping in to say hello and introduce you to our new series:
Behind the Batch
where we’ll be keeping you updated on what’s happening at Opa's Granola. We’re kicking it off by taking you back to the beginning and bringing you up to speed on where we are today.

Arielle baking granola with Sean's puppy named Poppy, 2020
In January 2026, we decided to transform Arielle’s homemade granola into a business. The brand grew out of her love and appreciation for her Opa and his focus on simple pleasures: a good book, a crowded dinner table and never passing up on something delicious.
Since then, we’ve been hard at work preparing to launch Opa’s in retail, by:
-
Completing our LLC and trademark filing
-
Developing our brand and messaging with our design agency, Benita Studios
-
Collaborating with SweetGirlEats, a meal-prep service to get the product into 150 people’s hands
-
Distributing samples to 100+ New Yorkers, getting invaluable feedback, iterating and perfecting our product
-
Growing our social media presence on Instagram and Tiktok
-
All while speaking to industry experts, fellow CPG companies and tons of packaging suppliers

So, where are we now? PACKAGING. We don’t want to be just another bag of granola on the shelf, so our packaging needs to stand out and give our customers more than a flimsy old bag (easier said than done!)
Once our packaging is set, we can schedule a photoshoot for product shots, update our website, shelf-life test, execute our first R&D production run, sample our product to retailers and really get the ball rolling.
As Opa would say, time to S&C (summarize and conclude)!

Your support means the world to us, and we’d be honored if you shared our website’s waitlist with a friend, family or an Opa in your family. As always, follow along on our Instagram and Tiktok.
Xo,
Arielle and Sean
